“I am a strong believer in giving and helping others because my family has emphasized helping those in need throughout my life.”
Describe your Syracuse experience.
While attending Syracuse University, I have met a great group of friends in ROTC, Women’s Lacrosse and other great communities on campus. I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to walk around a beautiful campus and further my education at a prestigious school. My favorite part about Syracuse is experiencing the changing of seasons, especially when the leaves change colors in the fall.
Tell us about your involvement with the Army ROTC.
Since joining the ROTC Program here at Syracuse University I feel like I have learned a significant amount of important information in regards to serving in the military. This past year as a junior has been one of the most important years for me. I had leadership roles from Company XO, to filling in for squad leader positions. I had amazing opportunities to attend military events at the NVRC to meet other prior service members as well. We do morning workouts as a program on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, which include cardio and strength lifts. I attend lecture classes once a week and then a lab class which emphasizes the importance of tactical missions.
How has donor generosity impacted you?
For both the ROTC and lacrosse communities, donors have been very generous. I am very grateful for the opportunities that are provided to me, whether it is for food or travel. Donors help to influence our team and ROTC community in a positive manner. When we receive generous gifts, we tend to give back to those who have helped us.
Why do you think giving back to the University is important?
Personally, I am a strong believer in giving and helping others because my family has emphasized helping those in need throughout my life. It is important to give back to the University because it will allow people to become interconnected within the community, build relationships and address any challenges to help solve any issues within society.
What does it mean to you to be Orange?
I am extremely proud to be Orange! To me being an Orange means truly fostering the ideas of being disciplined, inclusive, respectful leaders and following traditions that lead to school pride.
