The Campaign for Syracuse University
In November 2007, Syracuse University publicly launched the most ambitious fundraising effort in its history.
With a goal of $1 billion, The Campaign for Syracuse University sought unprecedented levels of support for scholarships, faculty endowments, academic programs, research, and facility construction and renovation. On September 13, 2012–more than three months ahead of schedule–it was announced that, thanks to the generous support of SU alumni, faculty, staff, parents, students, and friends, the campaign had exceeded its goal. This was in spite of the worst economic climate since the Great Depression.
The Campaign for Syracuse University officially ended on December 31, 2012, after raising a total of $1,044, 352,779.
