Giving Fast Facts

Did You Know…

Giving is an important source of revenue for Syracuse University. Without it, SU wouldn’t be able to provide students with cutting-edge programs, modern facilities, scholarships, or any number of other things that go into a first-class education.

Here are some of the facts and figures behind giving at SU:

  • At any given time, 75% of SU students receive some form of financial assistance.
  • For the 2014-15 academic year, SU is providing more than $223 million in scholarships.
  • Tuition covers only 80% of the real cost of an SU education. Your gifts help bridge that gap.
  • Gifts to individual schools and colleges support things like visiting artists, speaker programs, and student competition entry fees.

Carlye Eder '10“As a young alumna, my memories of Syracuse
are so fresh in my mind. I stay connected by
giving an annual gift to The Fund for Syracuse
I know my gift plays a key role and sustains my
pride in saying I attended SU.
