Giving Societies

Recognizing the Generosity of Our Donors

Those who generously give deserve to be recognized. These three giving societies are our way of honoring alumni, parents, friends, faculty, and staff who help drive Syracuse University’s vision.

Benefactors

Benefactors are those who have supported Syracuse University with a leadership gift to The Fund for Syracuse. Like all annual giving, these leadership gifts can be unrestricted—to support SU’s highest priorities—or directed toward scholarships, dean’s funds at individual schools, or other discretionary funds.

Syracuse University BenefactorLeadership gifts are tremendously powerful, because they enable SU to explore and execute larger initiatives and respond more quickly to opportunities or needs that may arise.

Pathfinders

Because donors who include SU in their long-term financial plans help guide the way for tomorrow’s students, they’re designated as Syracuse University Pathfinders.

Through bequests or other types of planned gifts, Pathfinders establish personal legacies that can support any number of priorities and initiatives, from scholarships and endowed chairs to interdisciplinary programs that provide students with enriched perspectives.

Visionaries

Syracuse University Visionaries are supporters who see the vital role SU plays in addressing the challenges of society, and whose cumulative or transformative giving will enable us to continue doing so long into the future.

Joseph I. Lubin Society

Named after the largest parent donor in Syracuse University’s history, the Joseph I. Lubin Society recognizes those families who make supporting Syracuse a priority while their children are SU students. In so doing, these families help propel the University to new standards of excellence.
