Bringing a Global Perspective to Sport Management

As the David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management, Rick Burton G’80 returns to his alma mater with an international portfolio of credentials, including roles as the first executive director of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Center at the University of Oregon, chief marketing officer for the U.S. Olympic Committee, and commissioner of the National Basketball League in Sydney, Australia.

A frequent contributor to such publications and journals as The New York Times, Business Week Online, Sport Business International, Brandweek, Advertising Age, and Sport Marketing Quarterly, Burton is a sought-after speaker and consultant whose affiliations have included the International Olympic Committee, Nike, Visa, Disney, and numerous sports leagues.

The David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management was made possible through a gift from SU Trustee David Falk ’72 and his wife, Rhonda Falk ’74.
