Are You ‘In’? Join the Campaign
As Syracuse University Athletics prepares to move to the Atlantic Coast Conference, it is intent on demonstrating the power of Orange pride and the depth of its talent – both on and off the field. To ensure student-athletes are fully prepared – and supported – for the unique challenges posed by the ACC, a call to action is being issued to all members of the Orange Nation. Through the ‘I’m in’ campaign, Syracuse Athletics aims to unite fans across the country and around the world, from students to alumni to Syracuse residents and all others who bleed Orange.
“This is a critical juncture and we need to enter this era by showing we have what it takes to secure a championship in every sport,” said Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross. “To achieve this we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to be ‘IN.’ We need them to join the effort so we can provide our student-athletes and coaches the best resources possible and a groundswell of support. The ‘I’m in’ campaign is a way for people who share that special belief in our amazing University to pull together, and in the process, strengthen the Orange for future success.”
The “I’m in” campaign will provide financial support for the athletic and academic priorities within the Athletics Department, including the recently announced indoor practice center and facilities for women’s programs, and across-the board program needs such as endowed scholarships and support staff for all teams. It will have its foundation in the proud history of SU athletics, and focus on the broad appeal of SU athletic programs and the support of our fans and donors.
The Syracuse Athletics program is now on a trajectory of unprecedented success, having climbed more than 50 places into the top 50 in the NACDA Director’s Cup standings. The goal is to reach the top 10 annually.
“The Orange Nation is not so much a place, as a state of mind,” Gross said. “You can be anywhere in the world—quite literally—and see fans proudly sporting their SU gear. The ‘I’m in’ effort celebrates that. You don’t have to be an athlete, or even a Syracuse alum, to be part of the Orange Nation, but you do need to have a passion for being extraordinary.
“This move to the ACC is a great opportunity for us to all come together. It’s a pivotal moment in our history and it’s time to show who we are and what we stand for. We know there’s incredible excitement about the progress of our programs and facilities. And we’re looking for people to incorporate themselves into the vision for the program – to be part of it in any way they can. The only way we get there is if we are all IN.”
